Everything you will need to know about our fees and additional costs can be found here. We aim to give you the information to help with your decision without overloading you with detail.

The following fees relate to the academic year from September 2024 to August 2025.

early years' funding

Available for 3 & 4 Year olds in Pre-School

We are delighted to announce that Early Years’ funding is now available to all 3 and 4 year olds in Pre-School*.

This government funding, often referred to as '15 hours free funding’, is available to every child from the term after they turn 3, and in an independent school setting. Please contact our Admissions Team directly to find out more.

All Nursery Fees (Preschool) shown above are exempt from VAT. The Government has indicated that Nursery Fees will continue to be exempt from VAT from 1st January 2025, when independent schools will be required to charge VAT on School Fees from Reception upwards.

The Fees above are for Autumn Term 2024/25 which are currently exempt from VAT. The Government has confirmed that as of 1st January 2025, all education services supplied by independent schools will be subject to VAT (at a standard rate of 20%). We will publish a new Fee schedule during the Autumn Term which takes into account the impact of VAT from 1st January 2025.

PRE-SCHOOL FAQS

We ask that:
  • Pre-School pupils are expected to participate in a minimum of five weekly sessions, which can consist of either half or full-day sessions, depending on availability.

  • During the Summer Term pupils are to attend 5 full days, in preparation for the move to Reception.

  • We are always happy to help where we can and offer adhoc bookings with just a few days’ notice. (Subject to staffing).

  • No, all our specialist lessons, for all children, are included within your fees.

  • Should your child wish to learn a music instrument and experience 1 to 1 tuition with a member of our talented peripatetic staff, this is additional learning is available alongside termly fees. Please speak with our Admissions Team for more details.

  • Snacks are not provided and must be provided by parents, adhering to our Nut Free policy

  • Lunch is not in included within your term fees, but available to all pupils at an additional termly cost of £277.

  • Wrap around care is available for children for all pupils during term time and for Reception to Year 6 during holidays. We have made our offering as flexible as possible, so you can build your wrap around needs to suit your family circumstances.

  • Yes, Salcombe Prep Pre-School is participating in the Government’s 15 Free Hours Early Education Entitlement Scheme.

  • Eligibility starts in the term following that when your child becomes three, for example if your child’s third birthday falls within the Autumn term, the entitlement would start in the Spring Term.

  • Places in the scheme will be limited and only apply to certain sessions. Please speak with our Admissions Team for further details.

FINANCIAL FAQS

  • Your child will be given the opportunity to attend a wide range of trips and opportunities across their time at Salcombe Prep, which will vary in price.

  • Yes. payments are accepted as payment or part payment towards fees up until the end of the Pre-School year, and for wrap around care costs for all ages between 3 and 11 years.

  • Our Finance Team will be able to advise you on everything you need to do to set this up.

  • Our Admissions Team will talk you through the details when you make your application.

  • When you complete your application forms, we ask for a registration fee of £120 (non-refundable). When you confirm your place, we ask for a deposit of £500 (refundable in line with T&Cs).

  • Yes, we use a third party called School Fee plan who would be happy to help you arrange monthly payments.

  • A full term’s notice is required in writing to the Headmistress if you wish to withdraw your child or if you withdraw acceptance of the place for your child before entry. In circumstances where a full term’s notice has not been given, a term’s fees in lieu of notice will be payable in accordance with the school’s terms and conditions.
